The difference in the 2 paddles is the shape. The Encore 6.0 EX is 1/2 inch longer for more reach and power with the wrist snap, the sweet spot is more up and down through the center of the paddle. The Encore 6.0 is 1/2 inch shorter but 1/8 inch wider. This creates a sweet sport more in the center of the paddle for slightly more control and maneuverability (faster at the net reacting) vs more power and reach of the EX. Although the lengths and widths differ the surface area of the paddles are actually the same.
