Yes they are made from the same face and core materials and have the same total surface area. The EX is for EXtended reach and is 1/2 in longer (16" x 8") but the Encore 6.0 is 1/8 of an inch wider (15 1/2" x 8 1/8") . The sweetspot of the EX runs more up and down through the center of the paddle from bottom to top while the Encore 6.0 sweetsport is more centralized. The EX is intended to give you a little extra reach.
