It is impossible to put a number on the power loss, much would depend on your swing speed and style (slice shots, top spin shots, flat low spin shots etc). The difference between the CS and PS paddles is the layup of the material when constructed but there are also different weights within each paddle also, GX6 PS has a 8.5 or 7.8 ounce version the GX5 CS also has a 8.5 and 7.8 ounce version. If you use the equation Force (or power) = Mass * Acceleration then a fast swing speed with a lighter paddle can generate just as much power as a slower swing speed with a heavier paddle. The selection of the paddle type PS vs CS should probably be determined more by your style of play or game type. For singles more players would use a PS paddle then depending on their swing speed either the heavier or lighter version. For doubles if you like to bang it around and don't play up at the net most of the time the PS would be best but if most of your game play is at the net with dinks and touch volleys then the CS is probably a better choice. Also the light paddles allow for faster reaction time at the net, no matter the version you choose CS vs PS the 7.8 ounce version vs the 8.5 ounce version, you will notice the difference in your reaction time on fast shots at the kitchen line. The best option would be to Demo each and see what feels right for you, many player find that the paddle they think they will like is the opposite of the one they like after hitting with it.
