Fiberglass usually is related to more pop off the paddle and graphite more control. So graphite is probably better for spin. The different manufacturers all have different types of texture for their faces to generate more spin but the texture is limited by paddle regulations. To be USAPA tournament approved there is a maximum surface roughness test each paddle must meet.
