How do the different Franklin colored balls (pink/ember/lava/optic) differ in playability and relative durability?

The color of the ball should not matter for playability. The color is usually for visibility, some people can see different color balls better than others so it is just a preference. For Franklin balls the playability difference is in the name not the color. The X-40 balls have 40 holes so they are for outdoor play (or indoor concrete court surfaces) while the X-26 has 26 holes and is softer, designed for indoor court play (gym/basketball court surface)
