High quality built paddle. As a control paddle rate 5 stars. 14 mm has soft touch with good spin. But as an All Court paddle rate 3 stars. Very under-powered. Thought with my tennis swing or lead tape I could get good power, but not to be.

I purchased this Gearbox CX14E paddle from Pickleballgalaxy.com a little over a month ago.
The paddle is great! I feel like I have more control with the paddle and definitely more spin without sacrificing any power! I love this paddle! Best Gearbox paddle to date!
Unfortunately, the handle of my paddle broke while reaching for a low ball in a game. My frustration, aggravation and complaint is with Customer Service at pickleballgalaxy.com. Though the paddle has a one year warranty, pickleballgalaxy.com only covers the paddle for one month! My paddle was 33 days old and they would not replace it! They did everything possible to make my attempted return of this paddle as difficult and miserable an experience as possible!!
Bottom line, if pickleballgalaxy.com will not stand behind the full warranty of the product they sell, and the price on their website is no cheaper than the price on the gearbox.com website, then there is simply no reason to continue to buy paddles from a distributor who does not stand behind the products they sell!

I REALLY LIKE GEAR BOX PADDLES, AS AN EX BADMINTON PLAYER, THE GRIP IS A LOT LIKE WHAT I AM USED TO. ONCE I GOT USED TO THIS PADDLE WHICH DID NOT TAKE LONG. I CAN'T SEE USING ANY OTHER PADDLE.

I love this paddle when playing with a hard pickleball. The 14mm depth is great! It absorbs the ball and allows me to be more accurate with my return shots. I originally purchased the GearBox GX6 but I didn’t have the control when playing with a hard ball. Now, if I’m using a softer ball the the GX6 is perfect. So no matter which type of ball is being used; hard=this paddle and soft=GX6 I’m ready to play! You should own both paddles in my opinion. You can’t go wrong! Good luck and great dinking! Just wish that when you spend this kind of money for either paddle, you should receive a protective cover for them at no extra charge. What’s a $15.00 charge off for a company that excels in pickleball merchandise.

I had no problem whatsoever transitioning from the GX6 to the CX14. I prefer paddles with a soft feel, which this paddle definitely has. What is impressive about the paddle is that it is so SOLID. With off-center hits, there is little tendency to torque the paddle in your hand. On all types of shots, I believe that my dispersion area is smaller with this paddle than any other I have used, including the GX6. That means control. I rarely win points on the basis of power only, but when I choose to swing hard, this paddle responds enough. I do rely on spin quite a bit, and this paddle generates more spin than the GX6, but not by a wide margin. For me this is a winner.

First of all, purchasing from PickleballGalaxy was a GREAT experience. They delivered the paddle within 2 days as they promised and after playing with the paddle I personally did not find it to warrant a change from my GX6. It was good but not good enough to warrant the extra cost of a new paddle. Lastly, PickleballGalaxy made the purchase and return worth going back to them once I find a paddle I want to purchase.

This paddle was very high quality. The first thing I noticed was the increased amount of spin I was able to generate. I also liked the sound of this paddle compared to previous Gearbox paddles. The only 'negative' to me is that the CX 14 only comes in one weight (8oz). I will probably try the cx 11 since I like a little heavier paddle.
