The New CX14 Hyper paddle has a longer handle and combined with a shorter, Quad shaped face. This combination of a longer lever with a smaller head, gives this paddle a unique play style, making it quick and maneuverable despite being 14mm. It offers the agility of an 11mm paddle with the stability and feel of a thick core paddle. The feel is surprisingly fast in your hands. The longer handle easily accommodates a two-handed shot. It is excellent for players who enjoy the feel of a thicker honeycomb core paddle but want the durability and performance of Gearbox’s #1 SST ribbed core technology.

The CX14 Hyper shape utilizes our thicker 14mm stability profile. The paddle is excellent for players coming to experience Gearbox’s SST Technology, from a lesser performing thick honeycomb core paddle.

Dynamite Paddle for Spin and Control!

I purchased a Gearbox paddle two years ago and immediately sent it back because I HATED it. So when a friend allowed me to try this paddle I was skeptical, but IMMEDIATELY my game improved. So I bought one for myself a week later. Unlike the Selkirk Invikta I used for over a year, I have found NO dead spots in this paddle. Resets and dinking are so much easier because when I hit the ball it does what I am expecting it too! Due to how light it is, I am quicker at the NVZ, and I can control my overhead head slams much better! (I have less tennis-elbow as well!) I get WAY MORE SPIN too. I, also, purchased the new Gearbox Pro Fusion Power paddle, but I think I play better with this one. I highly recommend this paddle!!

Easy to swing paddle and great for short game.

I bought this paddle to try it out and compare to some other paddles. It swings differently than anything I have ever used. It swings super light so it’s easy to swing and does have good spin. I found it was excellent for dinking or short game. The balance is great and has a consistent feel when hitting the ball most places on the paddle. The feel of the paddle is the most unique I have used.

    Second place in tournament

Have several carbon fiber paddles, and used this Gearbox CX H red paddle in a free get all first year Pickleball tournament. We did not have enough people to have mixed double, and played a Father/Son team against me and my partner. Me and a lady. The paddle did well on all hit, dinks, serves, and power shots. I did notice a few off center shots, where I was not able to return the shot. I also had put lead tape on all four corners before the tournament, as I noticed it was hitting light for me during recreational play.

I’ve had this paddle for a month or so and immediately fell in love. I love the clean, slick look of the edgeless carbon paddle, though the edgeless construction certainly has me more cautious about banging it up. The face is smaller than many others I’ve used but I have no issues with that. It’s light and quick in the hand. Good control and great spin. I’m able to take the pace off the ball when needed, assuming I execute properly. A bit less power than some other paddles I use. But after a short adjustment period, I’m typically able to get sufficient power for the game I play. This is my first Gearbox paddle and I know I’ll now try others down the line because of my quick success with this one.

    Great paddle

I’ve used a variety of different paddles including Selkirk and Diadem. There were certain things I liked about each paddle but kept looking for the perfect balance for me. I think I’ve found it in the CX14 H. I also tried the CX 14 E and a CX11 but the 14 H just felt a bit better than the others. The smaller grip allows me to add a wrap without having it feel too big. The paddle feels head light so although it weighs 8 oz it feels lighter than 8 oz. I might try adding some lead tape but for now I’m enjoying the quickness. If you’re looking for a soft playing paddle this is definitely worth trying. Highly recommended.

    Quiet drives, control, and spin

I am a 4.0 player, playing for about 3-4 years, and have used Selkirk, Paddletek, Onix paddles in the past. Playing indoors right now with an Onix outdoor ball on a gym floor (note: the paddle may play different outdoors with a Franklin or Dura ball). My paddle for the past year has been the Gearbox GX5 PS. Wanting to get a more standard-sized paddle in the Gearbox-line with a larger sweet spot, I decided on the Gearbox CX14H Red paddle (3 15/16 grip-size) based on durability, weight, size, and reviews. The first thing I notice that it is a much quieter paddle, deceptively quiet, as it made me think and feel that I wasn’t hitting the ball as hard as with the GX5 PS paddle. However, opponents did not notice any change in my ball speed. It took several games to ignore the quietness of the paddle and to discover the desirable characteristics of the CX14H. It feels lighter than 8.0 oz and plays soft, with a larger sweet spot allowing excellent control, spin and fewer miss-hits. The woven carbon-fiber surface provides a very good “spin-surface” providing more spin than previous paddles. Although I truly liked the GX5 PS, it suffered from a dead spot near the handle, that resulted in miss-hits, especially on low-bounce return shots. Overall, I am pleased with the CX14H so far and for those who want a good control/spin mid-weight paddle, the CX14H is an excellent choice.

    Control, spin and power potential

I've been playing pickleball since the summer of '21. In addition to trying paddles from other players, I have purchased and have had donated to me both poly and nomex paddles (Onix Z5, Evoke Pro, Gamma Dart, Paddletek Element). In comparison to all of the paddles I've tried, the Gearbox C14h seems to have several advantages, sometimes slight, over all of my other paddles. It feels light and balanced, yet I can produce plenty of power. There is plenty of sweet spot and mis-hits are reduced without an edge guard sticking out. The feel is close to a thick core poly paddle, but the C14h is quite responsive. Resets and dinking are an area of strength for this paddle, but he most prominent advantage is spin: While technique is the biggest factor for producing spin, this paddle has convinced me that gear can make a difference. Opponents are having a harder time with my serve, and I can literally see a significant difference in the bounce and trajectory of my shots utilizing spin. The C14 will be my main paddle for quite a while.

The paddle doesn't make the player and you can't buy yourself into a new skill level, but coming to this paddle from my $80 graphite face Selkirk (which I thought was the bee's knees) this paddle is much better. Touch - This paddle is on the softer side but expensed and absorbs energy much more consistently. Power - I don't have quite the power but I can still generate enough power when it is needed. Spin - a lot more effortless spin especially playing indoors I also really enjoy the edgeless design. I have not missed feeling like the ball hitting edge guard ruined a dink or a block.

I've been playing with this paddle for a few weeks now and I really like it. It's great for the soft game. My soft shots have really improved. It's doing exactly what I wanted it to do when I bought it. If you like to play a crafty game up at the net then this paddle might be just what you're looking for.
