JOOLA lists Control, Power and Spin for each paddle. At the bottom of our JOOLA paddles page you can see a table that lists all paddles with Spin included (higher = more spin). The JOOLA paddles are newly released so there isn't a lot of data on the wear of the grit at this time. No current paddle manufacturer resurfaces paddles. For paddles to be USAPA tournament approval they must meet a Surface Roughness Limit, this is tested using an SR160 roughness tester. The allowable limits for roughness shall be no greater than 30 micrometers (µm) on the Rz reading (average maximum height, peak to valley), and no greater than 40 micrometers on the Rt reading (maximum height, peak to valley). All readings will be taken in 4 different directions. Also not allowed, Anti-skid paint or any paint textured with sand, rubber particles, or any material that causes additional spin.
