I really like this paddle. It does have great power, as everyone says, but not too much where it feels out of control or overly poppy. It has a unique feel and sound, unlike any other paddle that I've owned or tested. It's easy to reset and dink. The ball doesn't feel like it's shooting from a trampoline like you may expect...quite the opposite actually. The only issue that I've noticed with control is my serves will sometimes go long if I overswing or don't get enough top spin on the ball. The drop serve works well with this paddle, as you can generate good speed with it and it's less likely to go out of bounds, at least with me. I live in TX & didn't have to pay tax going through Pickleball Galaxy, so that helped with the cost. I also got $20 off by signing up for PayPal credit. As far as I know, Pickleball Galaxy will let you return any paddle within 30 days, including this one. If you buy directly from Gearbox, it will take longer to get the paddle and I don't think you can return it. PG gives free 2-day shipping, so that was really cool too. I suggest you give this paddle a try because it is special. My drives are awesome when I hit the sweet spot with this Gearbox and put-away volleys travel much faster than other paddles. This one is worth owning even if you don't use it as your main go to.

I am enjoying my paddle and it is an upgrade from my old Gearbox elongated paddle. No complaints but not sure where the balance point is. To me it felt a little head heavy and thought the sweet spot might be a little larger. Since I was putting on an overgrip, I decided to try some precut leadtape to move back the midpoint and widen the sweet spot. Seems to be working even if the total paddle weight increased a bit it feels more comfortable. Very satisfied.

This is my review of Gearbox Pro Power Elongated after using it for a few days
The paddle is nice to hold and play. Feels light and maneuverable. Hand speed is reasonably good but not the best. The swing weight makes it a little slow. The sweet spot is very small and it you hit out of that, the vibration and loss of power is very significant. Lead is necessary to make it the sweet spot larger.
Serves: You can rip serves as long as you keep the ball low. If it goes high it will go out.
Returns: If the serve is low and hard, you only need to place the paddle in its path. If it is a lob serve, you need to careful and control the shot, otherwise it will go out. Looping returns are a little difficult.
Drives: The speed of the shot is difficult to predict. With other paddles, if you use X force and get Y speed, and then use 2X force you will nearly 2Y speed. It is nearly linear. But with this paddle, it is not linear. When you use 2X force, the speed is much more than 2Y. I am not sure how else to describe it. So you need to be careful how much force you apply. You need to close the paddle face much more to keep the ball in. But drives you can get it, are very effective. Spin is nothing exceptional. I felt it is less than my Ronbus 1.6.
Counters and overheads: These are lethal. If you counter or hit, the ball travels so fast that the opponent is normally caught off guard.
Resets: Are difficult to control. Most of mine went high and out of the kitchen.
Dinks and drop shots: Are surprisingly easy and accurate. If the shot is slow and gentle, the paddle is really soft. Dinks are accurate. Nearly 95% of the my drops were accurate. With my Ronbus 1.6, I would be lucky to get even 70% accurate.
Overall I like it. No paddle is perfect and for this paddle, the pros are much more than the cons. But not worth $275 + taxes. If you get one for $200 used, go for it.

I was expecting this paddle to be a singles only/power paddle, but I found the touch and control to be surprisingly easy as well. It’s got a unique sound, and despite the heavy swing weight and low twist weight, my hands were basically the same.

This paddle belongs in your arsenal of pickleball tools! It is a very quick, sledge hammer paddle with a funny sounding contact that will get your opponents talking. The hardest thing to get used to is controlling your shots. My remedy for this was putting .9 gr of lead tape on each side of the paddle. I carefully spaced the tape so it would be evenly distributed and carefully wrapped a strip of vinyl electrical tape the full length of the paddle edge. That process took approximately 15 minutes. This paddle won’t be for everyone but for me it is worth the $275 dollar price tag! This is the first time I’ve used pickleball galaxy and I’m very impressed with the speed they got my new paddle to me! I’ll definitely will use them again! Thanks so much!
