Overgrips can be used to prevent the main grip from wearing and needing to be replaced. Overgrips are much easier to replace as they wear more than a main grip. They can also be used to build up the thickness of a grip to fit larger hands better. 1 wrap of an overgrip increases the grip thickness by about 1/16".
